IRAQ IN FRAGMENTS

Iraq In Fragments illuminates post-war Iraq in three acts, building a vivid picture of a country pulled in different directions by religion and ethnicity.
Acclaim: IIF won 3 awards at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for a 2007 Academy Award.

RACHEL

Director: Simone Bitton
My Role: US Line Producer
Rachel Corrie was a young American peace activist who was killed in the Gaza Strip, crushed by an Israeli bulldozer while she was trying to prevent the destruction of a Palestinian house. RACHEL is a deep cinema investigation into the death of a young unknown girl, made with a rigour and scope normally reserved for first-rate historical characters.
Premiered in 2009 at Berlinale and had its' US Premier at Tribeca.

WALK RIGHT IN

The film recounts a unique educational experiment at Yale University involving young people from poverty backgrounds and diverse cultures from all over the country, as told through the participants forty years later. A compelling and deeply personal narrative of education and individual transformation, it calls for a conversation on education, race and diversity-topics as relevant today as they were then. Premieres: 2010

AUSTIN UNBOUND

Director: Eliza Greenwood
My Role: Editor
From the age of three, Austin knew that his female anatomy did not fit him. In middle school, he changed his name and began to dress as a boy. Today, Austin identifies as a straight man and a member of the Portland queer ASL community. AUSTIN UNBOUND documents this Deaf man's choice to get a double mastectomy. Premieres: 2010

TO BE A HEART

Director: me & billie rain
Experimental film about gender roles from a uniquely Middle Eastern perspective. Premiered in 2006 in Vancouver, BC and played in festivals throughout Lebanon, Canada and the United States.

Day Job:

I co-run being MEdia, a production company in Seattle, Washington. We do video production and new media work. Through being MEdia, we do video podcasts, corporate film, freelance camera & crew work and more.

I've also done freelance camera and sound for various documentaries, have worked on a number of short and feature narrative films, and have worked for the likes of MTV Networks' LOGO Channel, Wovie, CMT, View Askew, Producer Christina Ricci, Emmy award-winner Jane Lurie, and with the fabulous cinematographer, Mark Gerasimenko.
