My first
documentary was "$100 & A T-Shirt," a project about zines
(self-published magazines) and the communities surrounding them. It
was produced by Microcosm Publishing.
I've also been fortunate
enough to work with Producer/Director Heather Ross on her forthcoming
project "Girls On The Wall," where I found myself inside Warrenville Youth Center -- home of incarcerated girls ages 13 to 20 -- documenting an unorthodox and groundbreaking rehabilitation program: the writing and staging of a full-scale musical, based on the lives of the girls
I worked with the amazingly talented
James Longley on "Iraq In Fragments," which won 3 awards at Sundance in 2006, played at over 60 film festivals, was released theatrically in dozens of cities, and was nominated for an Academy Award. Iraq In Fragments illuminates post-war Iraq in three acts, building a vivid picture of a country pulled in different directions by religion and ethnicity.
I recently finished working as a Line
Producer for Simone Bitton on her upcoming documentary, Rachel.
I'm currently editing the film Austin Unbound for director Eliza Greenwood, out of Portland, Oregon. Austin Unbound follows Austin, a deaf transsexual man on his journey to complete his transition through surgery.
I
co-run a production company in Seattle, Washington called being MEdia. We do video production, dvd
authoring, and web based video.
Through being MEdia, I work on a monthly video
podcast for Colors NW Magazine
where we're producing & directing short documentaries that follow a magazine cover story each month. I also work on a bi-weekly video podcast for the indie record-label, kill rock stars.
I'm currently in post on 2 short documentaries about
reconstruction and war in Lebanon following the 2006 34-day war between Hezbollah and Israel. I'm
also producing a short documentary by 1st time director billie rain
about living with multiple chemical sensitivites (aka Environmental
Illness).
To top it all off, I worked with billie rain on creating the short experimental/narrative film, "To Be A Heart," which premiered in Vancouver BC, and played in festivals in Lebanon, Canada and the United States.
I've done freelance camera and sound for various documentaries (Nerdcore for Life, Homo A Go Go), have worked on a number of short and feature narrative films, and have worked for the likes of MTV Networks' LOGO Channel, Producer Christina Ricci, Emmy award-winner Jane Lurie, and with the fabulous cinematographer, Mark Gerasimenko.
